The Family:

Container Service C.Groenenboom bv is a family-owned company. Kees Groenenboom was already a successful entrepreneur when he took over the construction company in 1986. On the 30th December 2009 Kees transferred the business to his youngest child. Kristel Groenenboom became the new owner of the construction company in Oosterhout.In March 1961 Kees Groenenboom started his first business at the age of 21: a transport company in Ridderkerk. A surprising choice since he is a farmer's son from a family of seven and his future was expected to be in the farming industry. His dream to become a farmer disappeared quickly. The sole proprietorship grew into a healty, strong company. Slowly, the main activity for the company became container transport. Wide, high, long, all sorts of transport were possible. The more extraordinary the better. The transport company did well. Despite of this, Kees' hands started itching when he thought of starting another business. O.C.S., a factory in Oosterhout ( North Brabant), was taken over by us in 1986. We changed the name O.C.S. into Container Service C.Groenenboom bv quickly.This wasn't the only takeover we'd do. In 1988 Kees started a new transport company in Mannheim with three others. Following this, the first container terminal was founded in Avelgem including a transport company, respectively AVCT and OWTA. Meanwhile Kees bought his first container ship, moved to Belgium and he traded in container cranes.On the 30th of December 2009 Kees transferred the business to his oldest and youngest childeren. Kees Pieter took over the transport business and container terminal in Ridderkerk. Kristel became the new owner of Container Service C.Groenenboom bv.
